The Vermont Children’s Trust Foundation was established in 1991 as a 501 (c)(3) organization to raise private funds for prevention programs that promote the health and well-being of Vermont children and families. A portion of funds raised are contributed to Vermont Children’s Trust Fund, a public fund established by the state legislature in 1986.
In 2009, the Foundation entered into an agreement with the State of Vermont to manage the Children’s Trust Fund on the State’s behalf.
In addition to the Foundation’s contribution, the Fund receives money through a state allocation, federal juvenile justice and delinquency prevention money, and 100% of the money donated through the CTF Tax Check-off on line 29 B of the Vermont State Income Tax forms.
