Afterschool Care Grants are available annually from Vermont’s Child Development Division (CDD), Department for Children and Families. The grant cycle is designed to align with the VCTF Grants program and begins in January each year with the Grant Announcement (at right). Also refer to the grant cycle timeline.
Additional information about the purpose of these grants, proposal deadline and grant writing workshops can also be found in the Grant Announcement (at right). You are strongly encouraged to attend one of the listed workshops before writing one of these grant proposals.
It is very important that you review all the information in the Instructions document posted here. Please take special note that these grants are only available to licensed child care programs who serve school aged children from ages 5 (in Kindergarten) through 12. There are two (2) grant categories posted, each with its own purpose. First, the Start-up Grants are for either a program with an existing license that is looking to serve a greater number of children, or for the organization wanting to start a licensed program for these ages that has started the licensing application process. The other category, Quality Improvement Grants, is for existing licensed programs wanting to improve a quality standard in their services for school aged children.
